(2) In the 1851 census at St Cuthberts, Edinburgh was lsited John
Dow aged 43 saddler and <??> maker born St Cuthberts, Edinburgh and
his wife Janet aged 43 born Canongate, Edinburgh and children
<Samuel> aged 22 coach smith, Peter aged 16 <Wrights> apprentice,
Isabella aged 11, Maria aged 8 and John aged 6 all born Canongate,
Edinburgh.

2. DONALD DOW was born c1837-1839 in Midlothian, Edinburgh and died 30 January 1885, Glasow . He married MARGARET GILLESPIE on the 1st of April 1864 in Killwinning, Ayrshire, Scotland. She was born c1842 in Kilwinning, Ayrshire, Scotland and died on the 28th September 1912 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Dow, aged 34, Groom, born Midlothian, Edinburgh along with wife
Margaret aged 28, Muslin, Sower born Kilwinning, Ayrshire and
children Agnes aged 4 born Kilwinning and Margaret aged 3 born
Barrhead, Renfrewshire
(2) In the 1881 census at 32 Scotia Street, Glasgow, Donald Dow,
aged 4(?) was listed as a Groom, born Edinburgh, Midlothian along
with wife Margaret aged 38 born Kilwinning, Ayrshire and children
Agnes aged 14, dressmaker born Kilwinning, Maggie aged 12 born
Barrhead, Renfrewshire, Elizabeth aged 9 and Christina aged 7 both
born Kilwinning, Mary aged 5 and John aged 2 both born Glasgow
(3) Donald Dow, stableman married to Margaret Gillespie died 30th
January 1885 at the Western Infirmary, Glasgow usual address 111
Henderson Street, Glasgow of poisoning by laudanum as certified
by surgeon (William ?) His parents were listed as John Dow,
stableman deceased and Jessie Dow ms <Lamont> (?Lammint) deceased. Agnes
Pollock daughter of same address registered the death
(4) In the associated Register of Corrected Entries page 36 19th
February 1885, District of Kelvin, Glasgow, The following report of
results of the investigation has been received <following> the death
of Donald Dow registered under No 170 in the Register Book of Deaths
for the year 1885. Cause of death was now listed as Suicide as
certified by the Procurator Fiscal Office.
(5) Margaret Dow aged 70, widow of Donald Dow coachman died 28th
September 1912, 43 Morrison Street, Gorbals, Glasgow of Chronic
Bronchitis, Cardiac disease. Her parents were listed as Andrew
Gillespie, brick moulder, deceased and Jane Gillespie, ms Wylie
deceased. John Dow, son of 11 Dundas Street, Glasgow was informant.
