(1)  In the IGI a Hugh Logan was listed as being born 18 Oct 1791 Dalry, father listed as Hugh Logan
(2) In the 1841 census at the village of Drakemyre, Dalry was listed Hugh Logan aged 50 agricultural labourer along with Marion aged 50, Thomas aged 20 and Hugh aged 15 both agricultural labourers
(3) Ages were rounded in 1841 census
(4) On the same census page as Hugh Logan's house was listed Mathew Logan aged 45, labourer, at Fordmouth, Dalry possibly Hugh's younger brother, along with Isabella aged 30 and Hugh aged 7 months
(5) In the same village of Drakemyre, Dalry was listed another Hugh Logan aged 50, cotton weaver along with wife Jean aged 50 and children James and Elizabeth, both aged 10 (ages rounded)
(6) Also in 1841 census at Bridgend, Dalry was listed James Logan aged 45, silk weaver
(7) Also in 1841 census at Highfield, Dalry was listed James Logan, aged 14, agricultural labourer
(8) Also in 1841 census at <Gage> Lodge, Muirhead, Dalry was listed Elizabeth Logan  aged 6 living in Barr household
(9) Also in 1841 census at North Street, Dalry was listed Robert Logan aged 35, silk weaver and wife Janet aged 30 and children Elizabeth aged 8, Mary age 6 and Janet age 10 months, also nearby Elizabeth Logan aged 9 and close by Robert Logan aged 55, coal miner , wife Margaret aged 50, and children David aged 25, agricultural labourer and Jean aged 15 (may be more on next page)
(10) In the 1851 census at Courthill Street, Dalry was listed Marion Logan widow, aged 62, Stocking Knitter, born Linlithgow, Linlithgowshire along with son John aged 22, iron miner, born Dalry, Ayrshire
(11) In the 1851 census at Drakemyre, Dalry was listed Hugh Logan aged 61, cotton weaver born Dalry along with wife Jean aged 60 and children James aged 23,, pit head man and  Elizabeth aged 20 dress maker
(12) On the 4th January 1864 Hugh Logan, weaver died aged 72 of senile debility in Drakemyre, Dalry. His wife  was listed as Jean Barclay, and parents as Hugh Logan, shoemaker, deceased and Elizabeth Logan m.s. Frew, deceased. James Logan son registered the death, 4th Jan 1864, Dalry, <XX> Barclay was registrar.

2. THOMAS2 LOGAN (Hugh1) was born c1821 in Dalry, Ayrshire and died 11 May 1882, Dalry, Ayrshire, Scotland. He married JULIA MCMILLEN, 3rd June 1842. She was born c1822 in Glasgow and died 1877

(2) In the 1861 census at Drakemyre, Dalry, Ayrshire was listed Thomas Logan aged 41, Ironstone miner along with wife Julia aged 39, housekeeper, born Glasgow and children Janet aged 15, wool mill worker, Hugh aged 11, wool mill worker and Daniel aged and Thomas aged 5, both born Dalry, Ayrshire

(4) In the next house was listed Janet Logan aged 61, grocer, born Dalry and children Janet, aged <?>, dressmaker, Jane aged 43, dressmaker, James aged 17, apprentice joiner and Maggie granddaughter, aged 11 all born Dalry, Ayrshire, in the 1861 census Janet was listed as Janet Gibson, with Logan added, aged 51 grocer, born Dalry and children Mary (possibly May) aged 25, silk weaver, Janet aged 30, grocer and Robert aged 18, miner all born Dalry, Ayrshire
(5) Thomas Logan, aged 59, Ironstone <??> widower of Juilia McMillen, died 11th May 1882 in Dalry, Ayrshire, of Haemoptysis (3 days), his parents were lsited as Hugh Logan coal miner deceased and Marion Logan, m.s. Brodie. Hugh Logan son of 7 Thompson street, Kilmarnock, registered the death.

(3) In the 1851 census at Mains, Dalry was listed Hugh Logan aged 27, iron stone miner born Dalry along with wife Jean aged <27> and children: Hugh aged 7, John aged 4 and William aged 3 months all born Dalry, Ayrshire.
(4) In the 1861 census at <Drakemure>, Dalry was listed Hugh Logan aged 39, iron stone miner born Dalry along with wife Jean aged 39 and children: Hugh aged 17, iron stone miner, John aged 15, coalminer and William aged 10, Mary aged 8 and Jean aged 1 all born Dalry, Ayrshire.

(6) On the 17th January 1878 Jean Logan died aged 55 of Diarrhoea for 10 days at <Courthill Street>, Dalry. She was listed as married to Hugh Logan, iron miner. Her parents were listed as John Aiken, silk weaver deceased and Jean Aitken m.s. <Whitford> deceased. Hugh registered the death on the 18th January 1878 in Dalry.

Notes on Hugh Logan are:
(1) Hugh Logan aged 23, blacksmith of New Street, Dalry married Mary Campbell aged 22, housekeeper on the 31s October 1873 in Dalry after Banns according to the United Presbyterian Church. Hugh's parents were listed Thomas Logan, <Cheeseman> and Julia McMillan and Mary's were Archibald Campbell, weaver and Mary Campbell,  m.s. Aitken. Daniel Logan and Ann White were witnesses.
(2) Hugh registered his father's death in 1882, listed as living at 7 Thompson Street, Kilmarnock, Ayrshire

5. HUGH LOGAN (Hugh3, Hugh1),was born c1844 in Dalry, Ayrshire, Scotland and died unknown. He married CATHERINE WYLIE c1867. CATHERINE was born c1845 in Stevenston, Ayrshire and died unknown

6. WILLIAM LOGAN (Hugh3), was born c1848/9 in Dalry, Ayrshire, Scotland and died unknown. He married (AGNES SPIERS on the 11th July1873 in Dalry and (2) EUPHEMIA TAYLOR WILLIAMSON on the 31st December 1875 at Dalry, Ayrshire, Scotland.  a. Agnes was born c1837-47 and died 1874 in Dalry. Ayrshire. Euphemia was born c1854/5 in Motherwell and died unknown.

Notes on William Logan are:
(1) William Logan, aged 24, of Courthill Street, Dalry married Agnes Spiers aged 36 (possibly 26) of North Street, Dalry on the 11th July 1873 at North Street, Dalry after banns according to the forms of the established church of Scotland. William's parents were listed as Hugh Logan and Jane Aitken and Agnes's parents as Robert Spiers (deceased) and Agnes Spiers, m.s.<Gallic> The marriage was conducted by Robert Stevenson, minister of Dalry and witnesses by Mary Logan and Thomas Livingston.
(2) Agnes Logan m.s. Speirs died 1874, Dalry, Ayrshire
(3) William Logan, aged 26, iron miner married  Euphemia Williamson, aged 21, domestic servant, spinster on the 31st December 1875 at Dalry, after banns according to the forms of the established church of Scotland. William's parents were listed as Hugh Logan, labourer and Jane Logan, ms Aitken. Euphemia's parents were listed as James Williamson, labourer, deceased and Mary Williamson, ms Taylor deceased. Robert <??> minister of Dalry conducted the ceremony, James Archibald and Mary Morris were witnesses. The marriage was registered on the 3rd January 1876 at Dalry.
(4) In the 1881 census  at Lynn Street, Dalry,  William, aged 33, born Dalry was listed as an Iron Miner. His wife was listed as Euphemia Logan, age 26, born Motherwell. With them were children Mary, aged 4, Hugh age 3, born Kilbarchan, Renfrewshire, Jane Aitken Logan age 1 born Dalry and nephew Robert Williamson, age 11, born Kilwinning, Ayr.
(5) In the 1891 census at 21 Dixon Street, Hamilton was listed William Logan aged <42> Colliery underground fireman, born Dalry, Ayrshire along with wife Euphemia T aged 37, born Motherwell and children: Mary aged 14 born Dalry, Hugh aged 13, coal miner born <Kilbarchan<, Renfrewshire, Jane A aged 11 born Dalry, Euphemia T aged <9> born Hamilton and Marion B, aged 4 born Hamilton.

(7) In the 1911 census at 24 Dixon Street, Hamilton was listed William Logan aged 60 underground fireman at colliery, widower, born Dalry along with children William aged 19, Coal miner, hewer born Hamilton, John aged 16, apprentice brass moulder, born Hamilton, Margaret Paterson, sister aged 58 widow, born Dalry, Euphemia <Brinton> aged 22, born Hamilton, married for 2 years with 1 child and Euphemia <Brinton>, aged 1 (most likely Euphemia's daughter) born Hamilton
(8) On the 27th July 1924 William Logan coal miner widower of (1) Agnes Spiers and (2) Euphemia Williamson died aged 74 years of gastritis 2 months, myocarditis 4 days. His parents were listed as Hugh Logan, coal miner deceased and Jane Logan, m.s. Aitken. John Logan of 24 Dixon Street registered the death 28th July 1924, Hamilton

Notes on Mary Taylor Logan are:
(1) Mary was born 17th October 1876 at 1.00am at Templand Road, Dalry. Her father William Logan was listed as a coal miner. The birth was registered in the Parish of Dalry, Ayr, 1876, copy dated 11th March 1940, Andrew C. Bryson, Registrar.
(2) Mary Logan married Abraham Nelson 23rd April 1897 at 24 Dixon Street, Bent, Hamilton, after Banns of the Church of Scotland. Abraham was listed as a Coal Miner and Mary as Housekeeper. Abraham was listed as living at 21 Glebe Street, Hamilton and Mary at the marriage address. By the marriage, both of Abraham's parents, Aaron and Jemima were listed as deceased. Mary's parents were listed as William Logan, a Colliery Fireman, and Euphemia, ms Williamson, (deceased). Andrew?? Robertson, Minister of <?> conducted the marriage; witnessed by Thomas <Turnbull> and James Logan. The marriage was registered in the District of Hamilton, April 27th 1897.
(3) Mary died 16th February 1955, at 8.45am at 20 Robertson Street, Hamilton. Cause of death was given as Myocardial Insufficiency as certified by Robert J. G. Aitken. Her father was listed as William Logan, coal hewer, deceased and mother as Euphemia Taylor Williamson, deceased. The informant was Aaron Nelson of 17 Robertson Street, Hamilton. The death was registered in the District of Hamilton, 16th February 1955, Robert Hugh?? Listed as Registrar.
